The price of school supplies is not spared from inflation.

If the summer holidays have just started, the lists are already in the mailboxes and some parents are starting to buy.

If everyone has their solutions to save money, large retailers also offer alternatives to lower the bill.

With summer vacation just getting started, it's the kind of list kids don't want to see, and neither do parents, but not for the same reason.

This is of course the list of school supplies, which is already in the mailboxes.

Inflation also affects this sector.

According to the Families of France association, the return to school will cost nearly 200 euros for a sixth-grade student.

As a result, parents organize themselves to track down good deals.

Signs are playing the reuse card

Reuse business from the previous year, buy in bulk, in installments… Everyone has their own technique for reducing the cost of supplies.

But how to really lighten the bill?

To fight against inflation, it is possible to turn to certain large retailers.

Many are playing the reuse card.

You bring back your children's old satchel and in exchange, you receive a €10 reduction voucher to use in the stationery department, from €40 of purchases in Casino stores and from €30 at Leclerc.

The latter offers its small back-to-school kit with a binder, a pencil case and a diary for €14.95.

Buy wholesale

And in this race for low prices, Carrefour stores have chosen to reduce that of their entry-level products, notebooks, pens, slates or tubes of glue up to 40% cheaper than national brands.

Some reductions are still offered on major brands such as Oxford, Bic or UHU.

And other solutions exist, such as group purchases.

So, if you get on well with your neighbors or friends, you can go through the Smiles platform.

This is an opportunity to buy in bulk and therefore cheaper.
