A major travel agency has summarized the prospect that those who go on domestic trips this summer will almost return to the level before the spread of the new coronavirus.

JTB estimates that 70.5 million people will travel during the summer vacation from July 15th to the end of August, based on the reservation status of accommodation facilities and economic indicators.

Of these, 70 million domestic travelers are expected to recover to 96.7% of the same period three years before the spread of the infection.

On the other hand, the number of overseas travelers is 500,000, and it is expected to increase more than five times last year as the number of countries where entry restrictions are relaxed is increasing.

In addition, when asked about "the number of days of travel" in a questionnaire survey conducted on the Internet, 35.7% of the 980 respondents answered that they stayed one night, a decrease of 6.2 points from last year.

On the other hand,

▽ 2 nights increased by 3.5 points to 33.1%

▽ 3 nights increased by 3 points to 18.3%,

which means that there is a tendency to increase the number of travel days and travel farther.

Earlier this month, a travel agency surveyed the increase in the number of infected people nationwide, saying, "Demand is strong, but there are some cautious voices about the increase in infected people."
