A heat wave continues in the strong sunlight.
Today (7th), the daytime maximum temperature in Yeongdong and Okcheon, North Chungcheong Province, exceeded 36 degrees, and the heat of over 33 degrees was continued across the country, including 35.3 degrees in Daegu and 34.7 degrees in Pohang.
During the night, tropical nights appeared all over the country, exacerbating the heat.
Incheon recorded the lowest temperature during the night at 27.7 degrees, the second highest on record in July.
Heatwave warnings continued in most areas of the country, except for the metropolitan area where the heat had subsided and some parts of southern Gangwon, and the number of people suffering from heat illness increased by 63 yesterday alone to 615 so far.
This number is nearly four times higher than in the same period last year.
In the evening, heavy rain will fall mainly in the central region.
By tomorrow, rain of more than 80mm is predicted in many places across the country, in the central and southern parts of the country, 10-60mm in the mountainous areas of Jeju Island, and 5-30mm in the Gangwon-dong coast and Jeju-do.
The Korea Meteorological Administration warned that there may be places with very strong rains of 30 to 50 mm per hour in the central region and Honam by tomorrow morning, and urged people to be careful about safety accidents.
The rainy season will extend to Yeongnam in the morning of tomorrow and will gradually stop starting in the west from the afternoon.
After the rainy season has stopped, the heat wave will be rampant again for the weekend, and then, it is expected to rain again throughout the country early next week.
