The consumer price index in June exceeded the 6% level for the first time in 24 years.
According to the National Statistical Office, the consumer price index rose 6.0% in June compared to the same month last year.
It is the first time in 24 years that the consumer price index has exceeded 6% since 6.8% in November 1998.
Looking at the main fluctuations, agricultural products such as potatoes, cabbage and grapes showed a 30% increase in agricultural and fishery products, while imported beef and pork rose 27.2% and 18.6%, respectively.
For industrial products, diesel rose 50.7%, gasoline 31.4%, kerosene 72.1%, and LPG 29.1%, respectively.
In addition, electricity and city gas rates rose 11% each, and water rates also rose 3.7%.
International airfare also jumped 21.4%.
The National Statistical Office said that what kind of trend it shows in the future is the key, and predicted that if upward pressure increases as it is now, a 7% rise next month cannot be ruled out.
