Emirates Development Bank grants JLW Middle East a financing facility to implement a data center in Masdar

The Emirates Development Bank announced the approval of granting a commercial financing facility to JLW Middle East to design, build and deliver a data center with a capacity of 31.8 megawatts, and its capacity will later rise to 60 megawatts, in "Masdar City" in Abu Dhabi.


The financing facility agreement was signed by the CEO of the Emirates Development Bank, Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, and the Chairman and CEO of JLW Middle East, Michael Boufarhat.

Al Naqbi said that the completion of the data center in "Masdar" will contribute to strengthening the digital infrastructure of the UAE and the gradual transformation into an integrated digital economy, in addition to accelerating data sovereignty, and developing the capabilities of its analysis and processing and other services in data-focused technologies in the country.


For his part, CEO of JLW Middle East, Michael Boufarhat, considered the financing agreement an important step for the company.

He said: “As one of the leading mechanical and electrical contractors in the Middle East and North Africa region, we understand that accessing appropriate financing for this type of project can be challenging and complex, but the highly flexible and competitive solution provided by the Emirates Development Bank will ensure that we meet the standards of The strict quality of our client.

Under the contract, the company will be responsible for the turnkey design, engineering, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and delivery of the data center.
