Next Thursday, the activities of the third edition of the "Emirates Jewels" exhibition, organized by the Sharjah Expo Center, will be launched from June 30 to July 3, with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

A statement stated that the exhibition constitutes a platform to support the manufacture of gold works locally, in the presence of 20 Emirati designers, as well as 100 exhibitors from representatives of the most famous brands in gold and jewelry.

The exhibition, which covers an area of ​​8000 square metres, provides a unique opportunity for Emirati designers and participants to showcase their talents and creativity.

The CEO of Expo Center Sharjah, Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, said that the UAE gold and jewelry industry enjoys several competitive advantages, which enabled it to occupy a global position as a vital center for the trade of gold and precious metals, as it currently accounts for 11% of the total global gold exports.

He added: "This industry is witnessing an increasing growth in the country, as data from the World Gold Council indicate that consumer demand for gold in the UAE increased by 36% in the first quarter of this year, to 14.5 tons, compared to 10.7 tons in the same period last year. He stressed the keenness of the Sharjah Expo, through organizing the Emirates Jewels exhibition, to contribute to supporting this industry at the local level, in addition to enhancing the quality and competitiveness of national products in the local and regional markets.
