<Anchor> The

government announced the real estate policy a while ago and today (23rd) announced the labor policy.

Now, you can work up to 52 hours a week, and the key point is to change the standard for calculating working hours to one month instead of one week.

Doing so could increase your working hours to as much as 80 hours in some weeks.

Reporter Yoon-ha Jo's report will be read first and then the story will continue.

<Reporter> The

new labor policy is focused on flexible changes to the 52-hour work week.

Currently, we have set up weekly settlements so that the maximum working hours per week does not exceed 52 hours, but we are going to change this to a monthly basis under the labor-management agreement.

This will allow you to work up to 52 hours of overtime in a full month, allowing you to work 70 hours the first week, then 40 hours the following week, and so on.

In addition, it was decided to increase the settlement period for the selective working hour system, which is mainly applied to R&D positions, from the current three months to more.

During his candidacy, the president said that it should be extended to the entire year, saying that companies should work when they need it.

[President Seok-Yeol Yoon (Last January): Maintain 52 hours a week as an average of a year, but increase working hours when you need to work intensively, and decrease it when not...

.]

However, the actual policy is reduced to a monthly basis.

At the same time, we decided to introduce a working hour savings account system that collects this increased overtime and uses it as vacation instead of money.

The government also announced that it will revise the wage system to reduce the so-called high salary system, in which wages increase automatically as people get older.

wage system is no longer sustainable in the low-growth era and in the labor market with frequent turnover]

Q. How many hours a week can you work?

[Reporter Yoon-Ha Jo: Because I have been covering the government and labor attorneys like this, I can work up to 84 hours a week.

Just because the system changes, doesn't mean you can work 24 hours a day.

This is because the law stipulates that you cannot work for 11 hours after leaving work.

So, out of 24 hours a day, you have to subtract 11 hours and 1 hour for lunch.

So you can work up to 12 hours a day.

If you do this all week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, you will work 12 hours multiplied by 7 days for a total of 84 hours.]

Q. Are your working hours reduced in other weeks?

[Reporter Yoon-Ha Jo: That’s right.

So, in a month, you can work up to an additional 52 hours.

However, if you work 84 hours in the first week, you have about 20 hours of overtime left, and if you work full-time after that, you will be working 46 or 47 hours in the remaining three weeks.

]

Q. What is better for workers?

[Reporter Yoon-Ha Jo: I was a little curious about that, but I think the salary part is the most curious.

As far as I know, the salary does not increase.

Because even if the working hours change, the 52-hour system itself is maintained.

However, the government's explanation is that anyway, if we work hard while we're working and take a break when we're resting, we have a choice anyway.

]

Q. What is the reaction of the labor and business circles?

[Reporter Yoon-Ha Jo: First, right after the government announcement, large unions don't pay for this and just let them work.

The salary is the same, but I was a bit opposed to it, saying that it wasn't like I was doing more work.

Conversely, the business community welcomed it, saying that it will help increase jobs even though the current economic situation is not good.

]

Q. Does the law need to be changed to be enforced?

[Reporter Yoon-Ha Jo: So, what is the government reviewing today, it is promoted.

I was speaking at this level.

The wage system also said that they would change the salary system in which the salary increases according to the age they are now, but now that I have interviewed the people in charge separately, there is no concrete plan yet.

So, I will do a fact-finding and hand it over to the company, so go through the labor-management agreement and make adjustments on your own.

However, this content itself was about whether or not the government could start with great will.
