Switzerland imports 3 tons of Russian gold despite the Ukrainian war

Switzerland imported gold from Russia for the first time since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

And the Bloomberg news agency reported that data from the Swiss Federal Customs Administration showed that more than three tons of gold were shipped from Russia to Switzerland last May.

This is the first shipment between the two countries since last February.

The shipments represented 2% of Switzerland's gold imports last month.

It is noteworthy that Switzerland owns four of the largest gold refineries, as these refineries process two-thirds of the gold in the world.
