Zhongxin Finance, June 20. On June 20, the central bank revealed four new types of fraudulent methods about digital renminbi on its official account, including fake circulation, fake activities, fake public security, and fake websites.

Case 1: Fake flow tune

Zhang received a call from an anti-epidemic officer who claimed to be a city. The other party said that "the epidemic investigation found that Zhang violated the epidemic prevention regulations and was suspected of deliberately concealing the itinerary of the risk area. He was wanted" and asked Zhang to verify his identity information through "fund verification". .

Zhang was in a panic, added WeChat friends with the other party, installed the Trojan software sent by the other party, and opened a digital RMB wallet under the guidance of the other party. First, he converted 80,000 yuan in his bank account into digital RMB, and then transferred the digital RMB to in other wallets held by criminals.

Later, Zhang realized that something was wrong and contacted the local CDC to know that he was deceived.

The central bank said that lawbreakers took advantage of the recent epidemic prevention and control hotspots and the public's willingness to cooperate with epidemic prevention to design fraud traps, which made some people believe it.

Real epidemic prevention personnel will never ask questions that are not related to the spread of the disease, such as property: they will not ask for bank card numbers, passwords or verification codes; they will not ask you to transfer money or conduct so-called "fund verification" for any reason.

Case 2: Fake activities

Fu's mobile phone received a text message "Digital RMB Appointment Registration" with a URL link.

Since I saw the "Digital RMB Pilot Issuance Appointment Registration" event tweet in the circle of friends the day before yesterday, I relaxed my vigilance and opened the website.

Afterwards, the system prompts that 10,000 yuan needs to be deposited in order to experience the digital RMB. Fumou transfers the funds according to the page prompts. After a while, the funds are transferred away, and Fumou knows that he has been deceived.

The central bank pointed out that criminals took advantage of the public's enthusiasm and curiosity about digital renminbi to design fake registration websites to defraud personal information and funds.

When participating in the digital renminbi pilot activities, the public should pay attention not to enter "event links" or "event pages" of unknown origin, and do not fill in any personal information or transfer money on pages of unknown origin.

Case 3: Fake police officers

Mi received a call claiming to be a city bureau, claiming that the mobile phone number under Mi had published illegal information and needed to cooperate with the investigation.

The other party reported Mi's ID number, home address and bank card number and other information, which convinced Mi.

Then the other party transferred the "Municipal Public Security Bureau", claiming that Mi was involved in fraudulent activities, and he needed to provide proof of financial resources, and asked to share his mobile phone screen with Mi.

Mi opened a digital renminbi wallet under the instruction of the other party, and put 100,000 yuan of bank deposits into the digital renminbi wallet. The funds were transferred away in 3 transactions, and Mi was surprised to be deceived.

The central bank stated that impersonating public prosecutors and law enforcement officers is a common method used by criminals, taking advantage of the public's trust in state organs and their anxiety to clarify facts urgently to induce deceived people to transfer money to "self-certify their innocence."

In fact, the real public security organs will never use telephone or video connection to handle cases, nor will they ask for proof of funds.

Anyone who claims to be a public prosecutor and asks to transfer money involves fraud.

Case 4: Fake website

A friend recommended the "central bank digital currency" trading website to Wang, saying that the price of "central bank digital currency" fluctuates in real time, and users can trade "central bank digital currency" online to make profits.

After Wang logged on to the website, he clicked on the recharge, and it showed that "the deposit channel is being maintained, please contact the online customer service to recharge", and the customer service was told to transfer the funds to a personal bank account.

After Zhang became suspicious, he called the bank to inquire and confirmed that this was a fraudulent website.

It is worth noting that digital renminbi is legal tender in digital form, which is equivalent to banknotes and coins, and there is no room for trading speculation.

The central bank said that criminals took advantage of the digital renminbi hotspot and some people's greedy mentality to design fake trading websites and forged "good market" to defraud funds.

The real digital renminbi is a digital form of legal tender issued by the People's Bank of China, which is equivalent to banknotes and coins, and there is no room for trading speculation.
