We decided to re-launch the Nuri, which was stopped due to a sensor error, next Tuesday.

It is determined that there is no problem with the launch by replacing the broken parts, but the rainy season starting next week is a variable.

Reporter Jung Gu-hee covered the story.

<Reporter> The

Aerospace Research Institute revealed that the sensor measuring the liquid oxygen level in the first stage oxidizer tank of the Nuriho was the cause of the signal abnormality.

It's been three days since the launch stopped.

Inside the oxidizer tank, there is a water level sensor that uses a buoy to measure the amount of liquid oxygen, but the electrical component that locates the buoy inside is broken.

Fortunately, this part was replaceable outside the oxidizer tank.

[Kwon Hyeon-jun/Ministry of Science and Technology's large public research policy officer: At first, it was determined that it was necessary to separate the connections of the 1st and 2nd stages of Nuriho to replace the level (water level) sensor whose error was confirmed, but only the 1st and 2nd stages were replaced by replacing only the core parts. Without separating it.]

The anti-accidental agency said that it replaced the parts used for the third launch and completed the inspection before launch.

Accordingly, we have decided to resume the second launch of the Nuri on the 21st, next Tuesday.

The Nuri will go to the launch site on the 20th, the day before launch.

The variable is the rainy season, which is predicted to start next week.

[Koh Jung-hwan / Korea Aerospace Research Institute Head of Korea Launch Vehicle Development Division: I think we should continue to closely observe the weather.

If it gets worse, I think a change to the launch schedule will be necessary.]

Some pointed out that it would be unreasonable in the forecasted rain situation, but the anti-accidental agency decided to set the launch schedule within the preliminary launch period scheduled for the 23rd as the weather may improve. and explained.
