May trade balance deficit of 2,384.7 billion yen, the largest ever in May

According to the trade statistics released by the Ministry of Finance last month, the trade balance after deducting imports from exports was a deficit of 2,384.7 billion yen, the largest deficit in May.

The trade deficit has been for 10 consecutive months, mainly due to a significant increase in imports against the backdrop of rising energy prices such as crude oil.
