Regarding the "Linear Chuo Shinkansen," which Shizuoka Prefecture has not approved, a national expert council has begun discussions on environmental conservation such as the ecosystem of the area where tunnel construction is planned.

However, the timing of the compilation is not yet set, and the discussion may take a long time.

Regarding the Linear Chuo Shinkansen, JR Central is aiming to open in 2027, but Shizuoka Prefecture, which has the authority to permit construction, is concerned that the underground tunnel construction will reduce the amount of water in the Oi River and adversely affect the ecosystem of the Southern Alps. We do not allow the start of construction as there is.

Regarding this, the Council of Experts, which was set up by the government to enter into arbitration between JR Central and Shizuoka Prefecture, began discussions on environmental conservation at a meeting held on the 8th.

In this, it was confirmed that from summer to autumn, we will conduct on-site inspections and interviews with local stakeholders to sort out the points to be investigated.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, which serves as the secretariat, has a policy of deciding specific items to be discussed based on the opinions of experts, and there is a possibility that the discussion will take a long time, saying that the time for compilation is not yet set.

Regarding the issue of water resources, the same meeting of experts compiled an interim report last December stating that adverse effects could be suppressed, and discussions are ongoing between JR Central and Shizuoka Prefecture.

Director, Namba, Shizuoka Prefecture "Expectations for solid consideration"

Takashi Namba, director of Shizuoka Prefecture, who attended the meeting on the 8th as an observer, told reporters, "It was very good that the discussion started. At today's meeting, the chairman showed the direction to proceed with the discussion politely. I hope that a solid study will proceed. "
