At the beginning of this year, the Board of Directors of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy approved its strategy for the next phase (2022-2024), which focuses on improving the digital business environment, developing support for digital companies, and attracting global digital companies.

The fields of work of the rapidly growing African startups that the Chamber met include: financial technology, healthcare technologies, mobility, agricultural technology, in addition to e-commerce, sectors that Dubai is focusing on attracting as part of its efforts to be a global capital of the digital economy.


The inquiries of African technology companies also varied regarding the business environment in Dubai, as they expressed their interest in transferring their operations to Dubai, raising financing for expansion in global markets, and enjoying Dubai's complex network of relations with many foreign markets.

The Dubai Chamber for Digital Economy provided all the information and facilities and expressed its willingness to continue the discussion and help these companies transfer their operations to Dubai.


New initiative

For his part, Executive Director of the Dubai Chamber for Digital Economy, Khalid Al Jarwan Al Shamsi, said that the roadshow is one of the new initiatives that have been adopted, to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to consolidate Dubai's position as a global capital. of the digital economy, stressing that the promotional tours will target other markets over the coming months to introduce Dubai and its competitive advantages for fast-growing digital startups.

Al-Jarwan pointed out that attracting digital foreign investments is among the objectives of these promotional tours, especially that the Dubai Chamber's strategy for the digital economy focuses on attracting about 300 digital startups with rapid growth within two years.

He praised the results of the African promotional tour, considering that the impressions made by the Chamber during the first promotional round are positive, and will be built on to achieve the goals of the Dubai Chamber for the Digital Economy for the coming period.
