In the north of France, the number of CAF beneficiaries has increased in 4 years from 570,000 to 620,000.

This increase is due to many reasons: activity bonuses, reform of housing assistance, change in professional or family situation resulting from covid.

The persistent delays in the processing of files put the beneficiaries of the allowances in difficulty.

Since the death of her husband a month ago, Magali has been waiting for the payment of her housing aid and her allowance for single mothers.

Magali is unemployed.

This financial assistance is vital for her and for her 12-year-old daughter.

"I need it to try to get out of it, to get out of this abyss a little. I am at - one euro to live the month", she explains at the microphone of Europe 1.

"I'm waiting. It's still pending and we have nothing. Afterwards, there are the bills that fall, I don't even know how I'm going to do it," adds Magali.

“There is an action plan that has been implemented at CAF du Nord since March 2022. Nearly fifty permanent employees will have been recruited by the start of the next school year to manage the files of beneficiaries. This will greatly improve the processing time for the files of our beneficiaries", explains Sébastien Seron, director of user services at CAF du Nord.

With, a priority, a maximum waiting period of 15 days for the social minima, that is to say the RSA and the disabled adult allowance.
