To great ills, great remedies.
Faced with a labor shortage, as has regularly happened in recent years, the Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire are launching a major communication campaign to find their future recruits.
It must be said that the needs are still significant this time, with a full order book for the next two years at least.
In total, 400 people are wanted by the end of 2022. They will be recruited on permanent contracts for all types of trades: skilled workers, electricians, engineers, site supervisors, etc.
To attract candidates, the leader in the construction of ocean liners will display large displays in Saint-Nazaire, Nantes and its airport, but also in several stations and in particular in Paris-Montparnasse.
The campaign, under the slogan “Embark for an extraordinary adventure” will move to Brussels-Midi station in Belgium in September, indicates the company.
Internal school
To meet these strong recruitment needs, three years ago the shipyards launched its “Ecole Chantiers de l'Atlantique”, which offers direct on-site training in the trades of metal carpenter, welder and pipefitter.
The objective was to train around fifty trainees per year, in order to “perpetuate the specific knowledge of the company”.
