An increase of more than 56% from 2020, importing 787.5 thousand head of livestock through Dubai ports in 2021

The total livestock imported through Dubai ports during the past year amounted to 787,570 heads, compared to 504,54 livestock in 2020, with a growth rate of more than 56 percent, according to data published by the Dubai Statistics Center issued by Dubai Municipality.

The data obtained by "Emirates Today" showed that the number of imported cows through Dubai ports during the past year amounted to 11,448 heads of cows, while the total number of imported sheep reached 622,798 heads, and the number of goats 153,324 heads.


In addition, other data showed that the number of cattle slaughtered in Dubai's slaughterhouses during the past year amounted to 284,389 head, compared to 212,932 head of cattle in 2020, a growth rate of about 33.5%.
