Iran: Revolutionary Guard colonel shot dead in Tehran

A member of the Iranian regime's ideological army was shot dead in the street on Sunday, May 22 in Tehran, during an attack by two bikers.

The Revolutionary Guards say it was a colonel.

His name was Sayyad Khodai.

Sayyad Khodai was shot five times in an attack around 4 p.m. (11:30 GMT) on Sunday in Tehran, " 

near his home 

" according to the Tasnim agency.

The Irna agency published photos showing a man covered in blood, sitting in the driver's seat of a car with broken windows.

She relates the following facts.

Sayyad Khodai, a defender of the shrine, was assassinated in an armed attack by two motorcyclists in Mojahedin-é Eslam street in Tehran.

The term "sanctuary defender" refers to anyone working on behalf of the Islamic Republic in Iraq and Syria.

The Revolutionary Guards reacted in a press release, stating that the victim had the rank of colonel and that an investigation was underway to identify " 

the aggressor or aggressors

 ".
