• Officials The Government negotiates the largest public employment offer in full slowdown and in the face of "massive" retirements

Officials are going to mobilize to demand that the Government negotiate, and

apply a salary increase to deal with inflation

.

This has already been stated by the Central Independent Trade Union and Civil Servants (CSIF), which has called a campaign throughout the country that will begin on May 25.

" We

have suffered a loss of purchasing power of 15%

: we have been contributing to the Income Agreement since 2010, but the Government refuses to negotiate a salary increase", they expose from the union, while harshly criticizing that "the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, don't sit down to negotiate."

And it is that in the negotiation of the historic offer of public employment that the Civil Service is already preparing for next year, the Ministry has refused to negotiate any aspect related to the salary field.

"

It does not touch

", was the response of the Executive to the demands of the unions, to which it summoned to negotiate this point later.

However, these explanations have not been enough for the unions, who also view with nervousness the fact that the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, anticipated that the negotiation between unions and employers for

the income pact in the private sphere would be a point starting point

for negotiation in the public sector.

The representatives of the public workers consider that this supposes

stealing the negotiating capacity of the civil servants

and, in addition, they fear that the failure of the negotiation in the private sphere will influence them.

For this reason, they insist that Montero sit down to negotiate, something that at the moment seems very difficult.

Although what they do have is the certain commitment that the Government expressed in the Stability Plan that it sent to Brussels, and in which it was anticipated that the rise in public salaries from next year would be "

in line with inflation

".

Those words, however, do not meet the wishes of the unions and in no way represent compensation for the lost purchasing power.

No news on the job offer

As for the aforementioned historic public employment offer, the Government and the unions will close the final numbers probably on Thursday.

Right now, and after there have been no news today, they are the ones that EL MUNDO advanced this Tuesday: almost

14,000 free access places, just over 9,000 internal promotion and around 4,000 stabilization

.

In total,

between 27,000 and 28,000 places

for the General State Administration (PGE) without counting on the Security Forces and Bodies.

A historical number that seems insufficient to the unions given that only 4,000 net jobs are created and, in addition, a multi-year plan is not included to deal with "massive" retirements.
