Recently, Chongqing's first wireless charging driverless sightseeing car was unveiled in Bishan.
The sightseeing car is named "Xiaoyu", which can realize L4-level automatic driving and wireless charging functions.
The "Xiaoyu" car is 5.5 meters long, 2 meters wide and 2.6 meters high. The cruising range can reach 150km when the air conditioner is fully charged once.
The whole vehicle is equipped with 4 lidars, 2 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 12 cameras, which are equivalent to the eyes and ears of the driver, which can realize the surrounding 360° environment perception and can realize L4-level automatic driving.
Autopilot functions include super cruise, autonomous obstacle avoidance, autonomous lane change, autonomous overtaking, precise pit stop, vehicle-road coordination, intersection passing, and autonomous parking.
The wireless charging function of "Xiaoyu" uses the time when passengers get on and off the bus, and transmits the energy to the receiving coil on the car through the pre-buried transmitter coil, which realizes the full autonomy of parking and charging, charging and walking without manual intervention. The wireless charging function has greatly improved the convenience, safety and intelligence of the driving vehicle during the charging process.
It is reported that the project was built by Bishan Cultural Tourism Industry Co., Ltd., a state-owned enterprise in Bishan District, Chongqing, integrating various resources and funding.
As the intelligent manufacturer of wireless charging for the sightseeing car, Chongqing Huachuang Intelligent Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd., the core team of the company is from Chongqing University. Since 2002, the research on this technology has been started and more than 100 patents have been obtained.
