Yoshinoya Holdings, a major beef bowl chain, has revealed that it has refused to attend the briefing session for university students who were planning to attend the recruitment briefing session for its subsidiary because it was judged to be a foreign national.

The company apologizes for "insufficient explanation and confirmation."

According to Yoshinoya Holdings, a university student who had reserved participation in the briefing session on the Internet over the recruitment briefing session of the subsidiary Yoshinoya was judged by the hiring manager to be a foreign national based on information such as the university and place of residence. However, he sent an e-mail refusing to participate.

According to the company, the e-mail stated, "It is very difficult to obtain a work visa, and even if you get a job offer, you may not be able to join the company," and unilaterally canceled the reservation for the briefing session.

Regarding the reason why he refused to participate in the briefing session this time, the company said that when he gave a job offer to a foreign student in the past, he could not get a work visa and had to cancel the job offer. It is said that the same measures have been taken for students who are considered to be nationals from around January 2021.

Yoshinoya Holdings apologized, saying, "There was a lack of explanation and confirmation to the students. I am very sorry for the students who applied for the information session."

In April, the Yoshinoya officer was dismissed for disdain for women, and there have been a series of inappropriate cases concerning nationality and gender.
