China News Service, Beijing, May 5 (Reporter Ruan Yulin) According to data released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing on the 5th, China's logistics industry prosperity index in April was 43.8%, down 4.9 percentage points from the previous month, and the contraction rate further increased.

According to the analysis, at present, logistics companies expect the decline in demand to increase. With the continuous advancement of epidemic prevention and control measures and the implementation of the policy of ensuring smooth and smooth freight logistics, the short-term impact will gradually weaken, and there will be a strong momentum for stabilization in the later period.

Data show that in April, China's logistics industry prosperity index was 43.8%, down 4.9 percentage points from the previous month.

In the sub-indices, most of the indicators fell month-on-month. Among them, the total business index, the inventory turnover index, the capital turnover rate index, the equipment utilization index, and the main business profit index decreased significantly.

During the same period, the new orders index fell by 5 percentage points from the previous month to 44.4%; the employment index fell by 3 percentage points from the previous month to 45.5%.

The analysis believes that due to the many, wide-ranging and frequent outbreaks of this round of epidemics, the logistics industry prosperity index has been below 50% for two consecutive months, and the index contraction in April has further increased.

From the perspective of enterprise scale, small and micro logistics enterprises continue to weaken, and the impact of the epidemic on large and medium-sized logistics enterprises has also appeared.

At present, the situation of epidemic prevention and control is still relatively complicated. Logistics enterprises are expected to have declining demand, tight capital and personnel pressure, and further attention should be paid to them.

Industry analysts said that with the continuous advancement of epidemic prevention and control measures and the implementation of the policy of ensuring smooth and smooth freight and logistics, the short-term impact will gradually weaken.

However, under the background of several existing pressures, problems such as reduced logistics demand, blocked circulation, and profit shrinkage may evolve to a long-term trend. We must still attach great importance to the economic guarantee of a smooth logistics supply chain.
