More air on Friday: Europe's largest software group SAP gives employees more freedom before the weekend.

As far as possible, conferences and telephone and video switching should be avoided on Fridays, reported HR manager Cawa Younosi in an internal statement.

The so-called Focus Friday enables largely undisturbed working hours.

Urgent tasks could also be completed before the weekend, Younosi wrote.

“We go through the work week at top speed;

but what falls by the wayside is the opportunity to work intensively on things, to learn new things or to take a deep breath during a lunch break.”

The innovation is planned for mid-May in Germany.

Younosi named the 20th calendar week, so the first official non-conference Friday would be May 20th.

After a pilot phase, a global launch is planned.
