Today, a Peugeot 205 GTi displayed at €20,000 is no longer surprising.

This car is the dream of many people, starting with those who were still too young to afford it in the 80s and 90s.

In other words, people in their forties and fifties, a public well established in life and therefore able to respond to price offers that are constantly climbing.

The model in question here is a first-generation 205 GTi 1.9, with its 2-spoke steering wheel and its typical dashboard.

It was sold new by a Peugeot dealer in Orléans in February 1987, to a lady who was then 60 years old.

When he died in 2009, a distant cousin inherited the car, but he did not use it and decided to sell it in 2011. The car then only showed 5,831 km on the odometer and as it had not been driven for years previous years, a general overhaul was carried out by a professional.

Since then, the car has been meticulously maintained.

In 2019, the car has only covered 6,928 km and is still like new when it is entrusted to the Aguttes auction house.

Its sale price was estimated at between €45,000 and €65,000, but the bids climbed to… €82,960!

Note that today, for €20,000 less, you can afford a 300 hp Porsche 718 Cayman 2.0.
