Major bread makers "Fuji Baking" and "Shikishima Bread" have decided to raise the price of some products such as bread from July due to the soaring prices of imported wheat.

This is the second time that the price of bread has been raised.

According to the announcement, Fuji Baking will raise the price of products such as bread and sweet buns and Japanese and Western confectionery from the delivery on July 1st.

The price increase is

▽ 6% to 8% for

bread ▽ 5% to 9% for

bread rolls ▽ 3% to 8% for sweet buns

▽ 3% to 6% for Japanese and Western confectionery.

The price of Shikishima bread has also been raised from the delivery on July 1st.

▽ Bread rolls are about 4% -9% ▽ Bread

rolls are about 3% -8%

▽ Sweet buns are about 3% -9%

▽ Japanese and Western confectionery Is increased by about 2% to 8%

respectively.

Both companies have entered the market for bread products for the second time following January.

The price increase this time is due to the fact that the selling price of imported wheat, which is the main raw material, from the government to flour milling companies has increased by more than 17% from last month, and the prices of margarine and sugar have soared, as well as electricity and gas. The main reason is that prices and distribution costs are rising.

Among bread makers, Yamazaki Baking, the largest bread maker, announced a price increase from July last month, and the price increase of familiar foods using wheat flour is spreading.
