As noted, subject to a reduction in supplies from Russia to fill European storage facilities by August 1, all steel, chemical or cement plants in the EU must be disconnected from gas from now until the end of July, and gas-fired power plants will have to stop work for almost the entire July. 

Earlier, Gazprom announced that it had completely suspended gas supplies to the Bulgarian Bulgargaz and the Polish PGNiG due to non-payment in rubles.

On March 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had signed a decree on gas trade in rubles with unfriendly countries. 

To purchase gas from Russia, Western countries must open accounts in Russian banks.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that some European companies importing Russian natural gas agreed to the payment scheme proposed by Moscow, but not everyone is honest about it.
