Many competitors have tried to resemble him, even surpass him.

But, in our opinion, a Range Rover remains above the lot with the "je ne sais quoi" that makes all the difference.

The structure is brand new, the chassis is, for the most part, aluminum and much more rigid than the old models.

The engineers racked their brains so that the comfort is always at the highest level, whether it is soundproofing (reaching the heights of the genre) or in terms of suspensions.

At the wheel, the driver dominates the road or the rough terrain he is about to face.

Luxury is everywhere, quality materials, leather - among multiple choices - is thick and perfectly fitted.

The dashboard is obviously up to date with digital screens, controls and, of course, a giant screen in the central place.

In the back, like some limousines, the atmosphere is just as sumptuous.

Already, in its "short" version (5.05 m all the same), the space for the legs is not lacking.

Better still, of course, on the long version (+20 cm).

As for the trunk, it displays more than 700 liters in 4 or 5-seater configuration.

Finally, note that for the first time on the Range Rover, it is possible to opt for a 7-seater version.

Diesel, why not!?

Mechanically, we note the choice of 6-cylinder petrol (P400) and diesel (D250/300 and 350) in-house engines, all equipped with a 48V light hybridization.

At the top of the range, a gasoline V8 of BMW origin developing 530 hp.

Note also two plug-in proposals (P440e and P510e) equipped with a 6-cylinder thermal block and a 38.2 kWh battery which provides a range of 100 km in "zero emission" mode (count 70-80 instead in true).

In 2024, the Range will also be available in a 100% electric version.

We tried it mainly in the 350 hp diesel version.

Despite its pachydermic dimensions and weight (more than 2.5 tonnes), the new Range offers perfect heading stability.

On top of all that, the rear-wheel steering still provides an extra degree of precision to the noble vehicle.

Below 50 km/h, these same rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to those at the front at a maximum angle of 7.3°, which gives the Range a turning radius worthy of a small sedan!

Then, it was time to put the wheels of our beautiful English car in more hostile corners.

There, on rutted tracks and steep slopes, the Range simply shod with "normal" tires is, as always, pulled out with honors.

Of course, you will have to break the piggy bank to afford this jewel of technology with royal comfort.

Well equipped at the base, a diesel Range indeed starts at more than 127,000€!

It's a lot of money but at Range, we don't hide it: we are aiming for competition as expensive, or even more, like the Bentleys and even Rolls-Royce.

Another universe!
