In a constant concern for savings, Ford and Volkswagen have decided to work together, at least as far as their utility models are concerned.

Thus, the new Ford Tourneo Connect is in fact a Volkswagen Caddy, while the future VW Amarok will share many elements with the Ford Ranger presented at the end of last year.

Volkswagen has yet given few details about its new pick-up.

We know, however, that it will be larger than its predecessor (+10 cm; 5.35 m), and that the wheelbase will also be much more generous (+17.5 cm; 3.27 m).

Two body versions will be offered: single cab and double cab.

2 motors

Under the bonnet, the customer will have the choice between 2 diesel engines: a 2-litre 4-cylinder and a 3-litre V6.

It is unclear whether the Ranger's 2.3-liter turbo petrol will be part of it, or what all-wheel-drive system the Amarok will retain (the Ford Ranger allows you to choose between an engageable 4x4 system or permanent all-wheel drive).

Logically, the new Amarok will be built in Ford's South African plant.

Marketing is planned for later this year.
