Recently, data released by the Ministry of Transport showed that in the first quarter, my country completed 11.29 billion tons of commercial freight, an increase of 1.5% year-on-year, and the growth rate was basically the same as that in the fourth quarter of last year.
Among them, 8.15 billion tons of highways were completed, a year-on-year increase of 0.4%; 1.93 billion tons of waterway were completed, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%.
Wang Songbo, deputy director of the Comprehensive Planning Department of the Ministry of Transport, said that the overall economic operation of transportation in the first quarter achieved a smooth start, providing important transportation support for stabilizing the economic market and maintaining economic operation within a reasonable range.
In the first quarter, the domestic and foreign trade trends of my country's ports were significantly different, and the port cargo throughput was 3.63 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%.
Among them, domestic trade throughput increased by 4.6% year-on-year; foreign trade throughput decreased by 4.7% year-on-year, mainly due to the decrease in imports of coal, crude oil, iron ore and other bulk materials.
In terms of passenger transport, it was operating at a low level due to the impact of the epidemic.
In the first quarter, 1.54 billion commercial passenger trips were completed, a year-on-year decrease of 22.5%.
36 central cities across the country completed 10.91 billion passenger trips, a year-on-year decrease of 10.7%.
The number of passenger car trips on expressways was 4.63 billion, a year-on-year decrease of about 13.4%.
Transportation fixed asset investment remains high.
In the first quarter, 636 billion yuan was invested in transportation fixed assets, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%, and the growth rate was 1 percentage point higher than that in the fourth quarter of last year, effectively supporting the steady growth of the macro economy.
Among them, the investment in highways was 481 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.8%; the investment in waterways was 31 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%.
"Transportation is an important area of infrastructure construction, and investment in transportation plays an important role in driving economic and social development. Since the beginning of this year, in accordance with the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on actively expanding effective investment, we have regarded expanding investment and stabilizing growth as an important issue. Political tasks, adhere to the stability of the word, seek progress while maintaining stability, carry out investment in transportation infrastructure moderately ahead of schedule, and make every effort to do the work of 'six stability' and 'six guarantees'." Wang Songbo introduced that in the first quarter, local transportation authorities actively resumed work and started construction , major projects are progressing smoothly.
In terms of highways, key highway continuation projects have resumed normal construction, and major strategic projects in related regions such as the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor in Guangdong, the reconstruction project of the East Sixth Ring Road in Beijing, the Sichuan Yanjiang Expressway, the Jiangsu Chang-Tai River Crossing Corridor, and the Xinjiang-Wuwei Expressway have been accelerated. A number of key projects such as the Ningxia Huinong-Shizuishan section of the Ma Expressway have started construction, and a number of Guogao projects such as the Xinjiang Jinghe-Alashankou Expressway have been completed and opened to traffic.
In terms of water transportation, key projects such as the Yangtze River-Jihuai Shipping Project and the third-level waterway improvement project of the Zhejiang section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal have been progressed in an orderly manner, a number of key projects such as the Tianjin Port North Channel and related water dredging and upgrading projects have been started, and the fully intelligent transformation of Xiamen Hairun Wharf has been basically completed. 95% of the container automation renovation project for berths No. 7 and No. 8 in Dalanping South Operation Area of Dalanping Port Area of Qinzhou Port has been completed.
In terms of comprehensive transportation hubs, Hunan Changsha Huanghua Airport Comprehensive Passenger Transport Hub has fully started construction, Haikou New Seaport Comprehensive Transportation Hub project has progressed over 70%, Hubei Ezhou International Logistics Core Hub is nearing completion, and Hangzhou West Comprehensive Passenger Transport Hub, an important transportation supporting project for the Hangzhou Asian Games. The construction of the main structure is basically completed.
The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Transport said that the next step will continue to promote the construction of major transportation projects to provide important support for maintaining economic operation within a reasonable range.
