According to reports, Yang Xili's family has been engaged in hand-made cloth shoes for nearly a hundred years. In 1930, Yang Xili's grandfather Yang Youshun made shoes as an apprentice in Neiliansheng shoe shop in Beijing. On the basis of retaining traditional skills, he improved and innovated, forming the current 28 processes.
In 2019, Fucheng handmade cloth shoes were selected into the Hengshui municipal intangible cultural heritage list.
In order to protect and inherit handmade cloth shoes, Yang Xili registered the operation of "Shuncheng" shoe factory in 2012, and now it has grown to more than 20 varieties. The radiation drives more than 500 people in the surrounding villages to engage in handmade cloth shoes processing. The per capita annual income reaches 30,000 yuan. More than 100,000 pairs of handmade cloth shoes are sold.
