It is reported that Sangzhi's zongye leaves are favored by domestic and foreign zongzi enterprises due to its large leaves, good length, high softness, and strong fragrance.
In 2021, "Sangzhi Zongye" was approved as a national geographical indication protection product, with an output value of 260 million yuan. The production and sales of Zongye not only accounted for more than 80% of the Chinese market, but also exported to Southeast Asia, Europe and the United States and other regions.
Today, the rise of the zongye industry has become a powerful engine for Sangzhi County to consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation and continue the rural revitalization, and it has become an important driving force for the revolutionary old area to take on a new look.
