The invisible fiber optics want to be heard.

Yesterday morning, a hundred subcontractors, "arrived in cars or nacelles", blocked an Orange site, in an industrial zone of Grand-Quevilly, near Rouen (Seine-Maritime), to bring their claims with the company, reports

Paris Normandie

.

Angry, they promise not to install optical fiber at home in Normandy.

They denounce lower prices, "without negotiations, and deteriorated working conditions".

Several dozen installers - "subcontractors of subcontractors" of the French telecom leader - had already demonstrated a few days ago in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) in front of the company's headquarters.

"Our turnover is down 42 to 48%"

“Orange has drawn up a new contract for our interventions

” complains a technician in

Paris Normandy.

As a result, our turnover is down 42 to 48%, there are penalties and the contract is imposed, with no room for manoeuvre”.

“This network, we are the ones who are finalizing it, but it is the taxpayer who has paid for it, via public funding.

And Orange is putting pressure on us today,” storms another player in the sector.

Nationwide, these subcontractors have just formed an association.

“Before, we were at war with each other.

But there, we are united because we are all in the same shit, ”summarizes one of them, pragmatically, in

Ouest-France

.

Contacted by the regional daily, the management of Orange indicates that it remains "listening to the sector" and says that it is "mobilized to support these companies".
