Komatsu, a major construction machinery company, has stopped production at its factory in Russia due to supply chain disruptions and other reasons, but has revealed that it is not considering withdrawing from the Russian business at this time.

This was revealed by Komatsu President Hiroyuki Ogawa at a press conference held on the 28th.

In this, President Ogawa said, "Russia has thousands of employees including agents, and I think they have a responsibility to protect their safety and employment." I made it clear that I wasn't thinking.

Another reason is that it is necessary to continue the maintenance of the products that we have supplied so far.

As Russia's military invasion of Ukraine continued, Komatsu was producing hydraulic excavators and other products at its factory in Russia, but production was suspended due to the disruption of the supply chain and other products to Russia. We have also stopped shipping.

According to the company, sales in Russia and its neighboring countries last year were 184.4 billion yen, accounting for about 7% of the total sales.

President Ogawa said, "Because export restrictions are becoming stricter, some operations may be reduced in the future. I would like to decide the policy according to the situation."
