"Innovation is Huawei's DNA"

Hu Houkun said that in recent years, although Huawei has faced operational difficulties, its investment in research and development has not decreased but increased, from 10% of its revenue in the past year to 22% last year.

According to the financial report data, Huawei's R&D investment in 2021 will reach 142.7 billion yuan, a record high.

In addition, the reporter noticed that Huawei has launched a new round of "Genius Boys" recruitment plan.

On the 25th, the recruitment information released by Huawei's recruitment WeChat official account showed that Huawei's "genius boy" applicants are not limited to academic qualifications or schools, but are required to be in mathematics, computer, physics, materials, chips, intelligent manufacturing, chemistry and other related fields. There are special achievements and aspirations to become a technical leader.

"Rethink the terminal business"

Hu Houkun said that in the past two years, due to the shortage of chips, Huawei's mobile phone business has experienced a major decline, which is a great regret for consumers and Huawei.

But this also provides an opportunity for Huawei to rethink the terminal business and how to bring greater value to consumers.

"We believe that terminals are not only mobile phones. When users are surrounded by more and more electronic devices, what they need is not more terminals, but a more intelligent experience, that is, human-centered full-scene intelligence. Experience, which is the innovation focus of Huawei devices."

Hu Houkun also said that the current demand for computing power is facing explosive growth. Today, the computing power of a smartphone has far exceeded the ability of the host computer when it landed on the moon.

"We predict that by 2030, the global general computing power will increase by 10 times, and AI computing power will increase by 500 times. To meet this challenge, Huawei will redefine the computing architecture to break through the bottleneck of computing performance and efficiency."

"Complete multiple technological innovations and verifications of 5.5G"

Regarding the current 5G network, Hu Houkun said that today's bandwidth is not 1Gbps ubiquitous, and it will be a huge challenge from today to the future.

Huawei's vision is to achieve 10Gbps ubiquitous bandwidth in the future.

"To this end, Huawei first proposed 5.5G in the wireless field two years ago, and now we have completed a number of key technological innovations and verifications of 5.5G," Hu Houkun said.

"Try Huawei Legion"

Many people are curious about the Huawei Legion. This time, Hu Houkun said that Huawei is trying a new organizational form, called Legion, which is actually an integrated team, not only in sales, but also in demand management, industry solution development, and ecological cooperation. As well as resources such as services, each team is specific to a specific industry and has a deep understanding of customer needs.

As for why the Huawei Corps was established, Hu Houkun said that Huawei has found many problems in the practice of helping customers with digital transformation. Huawei has many technologies, but these technologies cannot be well matched and cannot solve customers' problems.

"Through the new organizational operation mode of the Legion, the management chain can be shortened vertically, so that product development can better respond to customer needs; horizontally quickly integrate resources, identify key business scenarios, and integrate Huawei and partners' products and capabilities into Together, we can form targeted solutions.”

Hu Houkun said that this mode of operation has already received some effects. For example, the completed Minehong operating system has actually solved the problem of connecting various equipment in the coal mine operation environment.
