According to a survey of sales agents of four major mobile phone companies, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications found that about 10% of stores violated or suspected of violating the law, such as refusing to sell smartphones to customers who do not have a line contract with their company. It turned out that it was confirmed.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications conducted an undercover survey of 531 distributors of NTT DoCoMo, KDDI, Softbank, and Rakuten Mobile to investigate the actual situation of sales in order to promote appropriate contracts and sales of mobile phones.

As a result, it was confirmed that 52 stores, which accounted for 9.8% of the total, violated or were suspected of violating the law, even though the law required that communication charges and terminal charges be separated from each other for three years. about it.

Specifically, they refused to sell smartphones to customers who did not have a line contract with their company, or offered a discount on the terminal price exceeding 20,000 yen on the condition of the contract.

In addition, a questionnaire survey was conducted on about 420 employees of dealers in January, and those who answered that they have recommended a high-priced rate plan that does not match the actual usage since June last year. In addition, 30% of the respondents answered that they had recommended options that seemed unnecessary, such as paid video viewing services.

In response to this, mobile phone companies have explained that they are thoroughly disseminating sales rules to retailers, but the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will consider necessary measures according to the situation of each company in the future.
