This is the third arrest of smuggling ships in the Persian Gulf, announced by the Revolutionary Guards.

The date of the boarding of this third ship has not been specified.

But it was carrying 200,000 liters of contraband fuel.

The ship was directed to the port of Bouchehr and the eight crew members were handed over to Iranian justice.

In the same operation, an Iranian boat carrying 20,000 liters of fuel was boarded.

Already at the end of November, the Revolutionary Guards had announced the arrest of a foreign ship carrying 150,000 liters of fuel.

The price of petrol or diesel is particularly low in Iran and there is a great deal of smuggling of these products to neighboring countries, notably Pakistan, Afghanistan, but also the Arab monarchies of the Persian Gulf.

A liter of gasoline costs about ten cents, which encourages smuggling to neighboring countries.

The Revolutionary Guards regularly announce the seizure of ships in the Persian Gulf region and the Arabian Sea.
