dnata, the global provider of aviation and travel services, confirmed its continued investment in infrastructure and equipment, to improve resource efficiency globally.

The company said in a statement that it has installed a 3.5 megawatt solar energy system across its operations at Changi Airport in Singapore, including freight and catering facilities, pointing out that the power plant consists of more than 6,500 individual solar panels, which will generate more than 4,300 megawatt hours of solar energy annually. This allows dnata to reduce carbon emissions related to electricity consumption by 20% annually.

“We are committed to reducing carbon emissions to ensure the highest possible level of environmental efficiency across our operations,” said David Parker, Senior Vice President, Airport Operations at dnata. and reduce carbon emissions from its global operations by 20% in the next two years.

dnata revealed that it has taken initiatives in Singapore to reduce food waste through its catering operations, and has replaced a number of ground support equipment and forklifts with hybrid or electric alternatives, while updating selected equipment when needed to extend life cycles, reduce waste, and emphasize safety and quality standards.

It has also added 44 electric baggage tractors to its fleet of ground support equipment at Changi Airport.

It is worth noting that dnata provides reliable and high-quality ground handling, freight, catering and retail services at more than 120 airports in 19 countries.
