It is an energy that could become profitable in the face of the explosion in gas prices.

Good news for the sector, which estimates that the State could garner 3.7 billion euros in revenue, the equivalent of the culture budget and from 2025. Revenge for a sector disowned by a third of French people, according to polls .

"Investing in wind power now pays off to the State and therefore to the French people."

A piece of news that almost sounds like revenge for Michel Gioria of France Wind Energy.

Wind power, so unloved during this presidential campaign and especially that of Marine Le Pen, is now surfing on the explosion in the price of fossil fuels to become profitable.

"In total, we have canceled expenses and revenues amounting to 6.8 billion euros," he says.

The disenchantment of a third of the French

This is news that the sector's own leaders did not believe anytime soon: producing wind energy in France is now profitable and will even bring in money for the State, the only investor.

The main reason is that the kilowatt hour no longer costs €50 but €250.

A surge in the price of energy which makes wind energy profitable, much more than fossil energy.

"When we say that the countryside is on fire and blood because of wind power, what we see when we go to the inaugurations, when we discuss with local elected officials, each time, it's the same music: we have a very small number of fierce opponents. At some point, the collective interest must prevail over individual interests which are in the minority", he exclaims.

The wind power lobby welcomes this and assures that the State will reap net revenues of 3.7 billion euros from 2025, i.e. the budget of the Ministry of Culture.

The sector, which claims to be the victim of political takeover, is now trying to defuse the debate and thus restore the image of wind power.
