Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched a new smart tool to assess electricity and water consumption, enabling customers from the residential sector to easily understand their consumption patterns.

The "Consumption Assessment" tool includes a questionnaire on electricity and water consumption, allowing customers to assess their consumption of electricity and water and identify ways to reduce consumption. Consumption.

He noted that the authority’s efforts in spreading awareness about the importance of rationalizing consumption have resulted in significant savings over the past years, and our rationalization programs and initiatives have achieved cumulative savings between 2012 and 2021 among the target groups, amounting to 2.2 TWh of electricity and 5.6 billion gallons of water. , equivalent to 1.2 billion dirhams, and a reduction of 1.1 million tons of carbon emissions.

It is noteworthy that the "Smart Life" initiative depends on supporting the implementation and adoption of a proactive mechanism in interaction with customers who have smart electricity and water meters, which allows them to monitor their consumption, through their smart life dashboard, and obtain annual, monthly and daily consumption reports.

The authority won the banner of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Program for Government Services 2020 for this initiative, which enables customers through the “My Sustainable Approach” program to compare their consumption with the consumption of similar homes, and to benefit from the offers provided by the authority within the “Dewa Store”, to enhance consumption control and the use of energy-saving devices. and water.
