With the repeated epidemics, Internet office software has become an important starting point for working from home.

The latest data from QuestMobile, a third-party organization, shows that in March, multiple apps on the efficiency office track ushered in a peak in the number of active users.

iiMedia Research CEO Zhang Yi told the "Securities Daily" reporter that the basis for the sharp increase in the demand for Internet office software is the increase in Internet penetration. In the era of digital economy, digital office is a major trend in the future.

At the same time, the epidemic has also played a catalytic role, and the demand for home office and study in some cities has surged.

But the epidemic prevention and control is only temporary. When life returns to normal, how can these Internet office software retain users?

Large enterprises become main users of office software

According to QuestMobile data, in March, DingTalk’s MAU (monthly active users) reached 220 million, and DAU (daily active users) exceeded 100 million, ranking first on the efficient office track and exceeding the peak in 2021; enterprise WeChat MAU was 98.0658 million, DAU reached 50.7694 million, ranking second on the track; Tencent Conference’s MAU was 77.9535 million, DAU reached 12.4097 million; ByteDance’s Feishu MAU also reached 6.1127 million.

This is not the first traffic spike for software such as DingTalk.

In February 2020, due to the epidemic, students from more than 30 provinces across the country took online classes on the DingTalk platform. In less than a month, the total downloads of DingTalk reached 1.1 billion, the MAU exceeded 200 million, and the DAU increased from 36 million. jumped over a billion.

And this time the office software has reached its peak again, and education users are also the main crowd.

It is reported that the preferred platforms for online teaching in Jilin, Shanghai and other places are DingTalk and Tencent Conference.

It should be mentioned that compared with two years ago, the penetration rate of office software in large enterprises has also increased significantly. A set of data recently released by DingTalk shows that large enterprise organizations with more than 2,000 employees contributed nearly 30% of DingTalk’s Activity.

Feishu also called out the slogan of "advanced enterprises are in Feishu", and companies such as Ideal Automobile, Yuanqi Forest, Huazhu Hotel Group, and Yintai Group have successively settled in.

A relevant person in charge of a listed company in the Shanghai media industry told reporters that since working from home in mid-March, Feishu has been used for office work and meetings every day, "Feishu's multi-dimensional table drawing function can quickly generate charts, which is very convenient; The color scheme and UI style of the book are more suitable for Chinese users.”

  Next stop is PaaS?

"However, compared with two years ago, the market environment has also undergone corresponding changes. The general functions of Internet office software have already matured. What large enterprises need is a targeted and in-depth digital transformation plan, which is SaaS (software as a service) , and it is PaaS (Platform as a Service)." A brokerage analyst who focuses on the TMT industry told the "Securities Daily" reporter that under the wave of home office, Internet office software continues to expand the product boundaries. Woke up.

In January of this year, Tencent Documents officially cooperated with enterprise WeChat and Tencent Conference to further in-depth collaboration, integration and upgrading, and the three products were "fitted".

Users can enter the new version of documents and meetings with one click from multiple portals such as the homepage, workbench, and group chat in the enterprise WeChat.

In terms of external ecology, Tencent Documents has launched a new open platform since last year, providing developers with functions such as account authorization, API interface and applet access.

In March, DingTalk President Ye Jun said, "DingTalk has officially entered the BPaaS (Business Process as a Service) era from the APaaS (Application Platform as a Service) era. And partners can get more support from DingTalk."

It is reported that DingTalk will serve as an open border and basic capability platform, maintaining the position of a collaborative office and application development platform unchanged, strategically investing in basic products such as documents, audio and video, projects, and conferences, and leaving other functions to ecological partners.

For example, the electronic signature application e-signbao in Dingding.

Almost at the same time, some media reported that the first-generation low-code manufacturer "Black Payun" announced that it would stop service and maintenance. Its founder Chen Jinzhou and some team members will join the Feishu team of ByteDance, responsible for the APaaS product "Kunlun". Chen Jinzhou has a high rank and reports directly to Feishu CEO Xie Xin.

At present, Feishu has been upgraded to version 5.0, which has been upgraded from an organization-oriented management tool to an enterprise management platform. On the basis of functions such as knowledge base, performance, and recruitment, Feishu personnel, Feishu contracts, Feishu approval, etc. have been added. product.

The above analysts believe that the battle between Alibaba, Tencent and ByteDance in the office software track has begun. Major companies are leveraging their own advantages, DingTalk has a first-mover advantage, while Tencent and ByteDance are behind the huge competition. The advantages of traffic should not be underestimated, the industry competition is still in a state of anxiety, and the differentiation of product forms needs to be further clarified.
