Pandemic, shortage of semiconductors and now, the war in Ukraine: we would really like to make you dream or speak to you with a more positive tone about your future purchase, but the bad news is linked and directly affects the automotive sector.

Indeed, one of the main European manufacturers of electric cables is in Ukraine, and given the current sad context, the factory had to interrupt its activities.

However, this manufacturer notably supplies the Volkswagen group, of which Skoda is a part.

The rest, you know it.

During our test in Italy, Skoda officials announced that they were looking for a solution to resume production of their new electric SUV: the Enyaq.

This did not prevent us from testing its new Coupé version, especially in its RS version.

Farther, faster charging

In short, the Enyaq Coupé still inherits a large panoramic roof but above all, a software update that allows it to recharge with more power – up to 135 kW – and therefore faster on charging stations. fast charging.

In the best conditions, the recharge time is therefore about thirty minutes to go from 10 to 80% battery capacity.

You will have seen it in the images: this Enyaq Coupé also offers a much more dynamic line than the normal version.

Aerodynamically, it pays, because this Coupé version offers 15 to 20 km of bonus autonomy.

The version with greater autonomy thus brings it to 540 km.

It is 504 km for our sporty RS version of nearly 300 horsepower (220 kW).

With its 2 motors, one of which drives the front wheels and the other the rear wheels, the Enyaq Coupé RS iV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.

Its maximum speed has been pushed to 180 km/h, against 160 for the other versions.

RS: Really Sporty?

With its large rims of 20 or 21 inches and its chassis closer to the ground, on paper, the Enyaq Coupé RS iV could seem less comfortable.

In fact, it is not.

Yes, the cushioning is rigorous but never uncomfortable.

The accelerations are frank but not spectacular, because the machine weighs 2.3 tons.

Apart from a slightly sportier interior atmosphere and progressive steering, the differences in behavior with the "80x" version with 2 less powerful engines (195 kW, or 265 hp) are very little noticeable.

No sacrifices on board

In fact, what we continue to appreciate in the Enyaq iV family, Coupé or not, is the space on board (including the roof guard for the rear passengers which has not been reduced despite the coupe line), the trunk which retains a good capacity (570 l against 585 for the Enyaq iV) and driving without unpleasant surprises.

Just like consumption elsewhere: between 16 and 20 kWh / 100 km depending on the type of road and the versions, under a beautiful Italian weather, it must be said, favorable.

The prices are not yet validated for France, but that of the RS version should approach 60,000 €.

It's expensive for a Skoda and given the economic trend, it's not about to drop.

For the rest of the Coupé range, it will take about 5 to 10% more than the equivalent SUV version.
