Dubai Chamber of Commerce gets the "100% paperless" stamp

In a move that reflects its leadership in digital transformation, and to keep pace with the rapid growth witnessed by Dubai at various levels, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce revealed that recently obtaining the "100% paperless" stamp from the Dubai Digital Authority, contributed to the provision of more than about one million papers annually internally and externally in 2021. And saving more than 11 million dirhams annually in the cost of printing, time, and transportation of customers to and from customer happiness centers.

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce obtained the “100% paperless” stamp from the Dubai Digital Authority as part of its commitment to implement the “Dubai Paperless Strategy” launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, which aims to make Dubai as a model for smart sustainable cities, and consolidating its position as a global digital capital, within the emirate's vision for the Dubai government to be the first paperless government in the world.

With the Chamber obtaining a 100% paperless stamp, based on its consumption during the past five years (2017-2021), it will have succeeded in dispensing about 37 million papers, which is the total consumption of printed papers during this period.

Hamad Mubarak Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chambers, indicated the Chamber's commitment to support the vision of the wise leadership and achieve its future aspirations, pointing out that the Dubai paperless strategy was a forward-looking strategy for the future, and an important step towards strengthening Dubai's position as the capital of business and the digital economy, while contributing mainly to Reducing the cost of doing business and facilitating and simplifying its procedures.

He explained that the room, which has become 100% paperless, provides more than 50 smart main services, and the number of visitors to customer happiness offices has decreased from more than 380,000 visitors during the pre-Covid-19 period to a limited number that is not currently mentioned, considering that the room has become a leading model. In integrated digital transformation, the advanced digital infrastructure with high efficiency that meets all the requirements of the private sector and the business community.

In turn, the Director of the Information Technology Department at the Dubai Chamber, Saif Hattawi, said that the Chamber's success in transforming into a paperless institution was the result of the efforts of a specialized team led by young national competencies, which led the transformation process smoothly and easily, and dispensed with 49 printing machines in the room, and set up the infrastructure To ensure the workflow and its sustainability for customers and employees alike, achieving the objectives of the Dubai Strategy for Paper Transactions in record time.

Hattawi pointed out that investing in the development of digital services and enriching the customer experience remains a priority for the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, which recently signed the first paperless memorandum of understanding with an Italian delegation, while it strives to improve the digital customer experience system, and instill a culture of smart transformation in the private sector through related services. An added value that makes it easier for the customer to complete his transactions, and for the employees to carry out their job duties to the fullest extent, stressing that investing in smart solutions and advanced technologies is the most important investment for creating the future of business.
