Each year, Pôle emploi publishes a survey on labor needs in the French departments.

This report, which tends towards a positive development, has just been published on Wednesday for the Pyrénées-Orientales, reveals

L'Indépendant

.

Even if, for this survey, only a quarter of companies responded, we can see that seasonal hiring would drop from 64% in 2018 to 56% in 2022. A decrease caused by the increase in permanent hiring.

These hirings would mainly concern the sectors of industry, construction, accommodation and catering.

Difficult recruitment for skilled trades

However, Pyrénées-Orientales remains one of the French departments where the proportion of seasonal jobs is the highest.

This is why the unemployment rate remains particularly high.

Finally, low-skilled jobs remain the most sought after.

As for skilled trades, the department is struggling to find candidates.
