The Mercedes SL is quite simply one of the most famous automobile lines.

Yet lately, the model had a little trouble existing between the grand tourism of the S-Class coupe and convertible, and the pure sportiness of the AMG SLS and GT.

The positioning of the new model is much clearer, since it takes over from the AMGs and thus finds the top of the brand's sports offer.

Designed by AMG – the “performance” division of Mercedes – the SL adopts for the first time in its history four-wheel drive, but also steering.

All of this improves both low-speed agility and high-speed cornering stability.

And if that's not enough, the engineers have also developed a unique roll control system that acts independently on all four wheels.

These technical refinements contribute to making this SL extremely efficient on the road, especially in its “63” version, the most powerful version of the 4.0l V8 Biturbo engine with 585 hp.

A linear and muscular engine, whose occupants can enjoy the nice soundtrack after dropping the canvas hood – another return to the model's roots – in 15 seconds.

Operation that can be carried out in (almost) all seasons, thanks to a passenger compartment well protected from unpleasant eddies, and to the efficiency of the Airscarf neck warmer system.

Moreover, even with the top down and under the sun, the central screen, the centerpiece of the passenger compartment, remains perfectly readable thanks to its adjustable inclination from 12 to 32 degrees.

A real success!

But the price also finds the heights: from 196.625€ for this SL63.
