After a recent outbreak of salmonella, Ferrero decided on Tuesday to recall other children's products in Germany.

Although none of the products tested positive for salmonella, a connection with chocolate products is suspected, which is why the following products should not be consumed as a precaution: Kinder surprise eggs (pack of four, best before date/best before date August 21, 2022), children's maxi mix plush (best before date August 21, 2022 ), Kinder Mini Eggs Mix (best before August 21st, 2022) and Kinder Surprise Maxi Egg Smurfs (best before August 19th to September 18th, 2022).

All products are made in Belgium.

Ferrero also published an updated list of all recalled items and said on Wednesday: "Ferrero is working closely with the responsible food authority in Germany to uncover a possible link to a number of reported cases of salmonella".

Almost two weeks before Easter, Ferrero recalled several products on Tuesday.

The EU food safety authority EFSA and the EU health authority ECDC stated on Wednesday that so far 105 cases of salmonella have been confirmed and 29 suspected cases have emerged.

The authorities have already started investigations and plan to publish an initial assessment in the coming week.

In addition to Great Britain, Belgium, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden are also affected.

So far, four confirmed and three suspected cases are known in Germany.
