The Ministry of Transport of China disclosed that during the Qingming Festival holiday, the national railway, highway, waterway, and civil aviation are expected to send a total of 53.781 million passengers, a decrease of 62.7% compared with the same period in 2021 and a decrease of 9.8% compared with the same period in 2020.

  During the Qingming holiday, railways are expected to send 6.229 million passengers, down 83.7% from the same period in 2021 and down 45.2% from the same period in 2020; highways are expected to send 46.34 million passengers, down 53.2% from the same period in 2021 and up 0.9% from the same period in 2020 ; Waterway is expected to send 650,000 passengers, down 77.0% from the same period in 2021 and 42.5% from the same period in 2020; civil aviation is expected to send 562,000 passengers, down 87.0% from the same period in 2021 and down 53.8% from the same period in 2020.

  The reporter learned from the Ministry of Transport that during the Qingming holiday in 2022, the toll road will continue to implement the free toll policy for small passenger cars with seven seats or less.

The Ministry of Transport continued to strengthen the operation monitoring of important passages, toll stations, long bridges and tunnels, tourist scenic spots, and highways around key cities during the holiday. Roads around the city and toll stations are normal.

Road trips are mainly short-distance trips such as self-driving outings and ritual sweeping.

The peak of travel traffic on the national road network appeared on the first day of the holiday (April 3), the traffic dropped slightly on the 4th, and the national road network ushered in a small return peak from the afternoon to the evening of the 5th, but the congestion level was lower than the first day.

  The Ministry of Transport stated that during the Qingming holiday, local transportation departments analyzed the travel needs of passengers and people, strengthened service guarantees, and coordinated the epidemic prevention and control work to avoid long-term gathering and waiting of passengers.
