Recently, the annual industry summit in the field of new energy vehicles, the China Electric Vehicle 100 Forum, was held online and offline.

Although it is a domestic industry event, it has attracted many multinational companies to participate.

The "international vision" of China's electric vehicle industry not only reflects the popularity of the industry, but also highlights that relevant multinational companies are very optimistic about the prospects of China's electric vehicle market.

Gao Le, President and CEO of BMW Group Greater China, pointed out during the forum that electrification and digitalization have promoted the further integration of the automotive industry and the energy industry, and that strengthening cross-industry cooperation is the key to achieving the "dual carbon" goal.

Gole believes that only through the joint efforts of the industry, the government and the whole society to create favorable conditions for achieving this goal can the transformation of the automotive industry be truly realized.

The sustainable development of electric vehicles is inseparable from the expansion of the charging network, and the construction of infrastructure needs to be coordinated with the development of the vehicle architecture.

Through cooperation with Chinese companies, as of the end of February this year, BMW had 380,000 connected public charging piles, including 200,000 DC fast charging piles.

In 2020, BMW's first "charging, photovoltaic, and energy storage three-in-one" energy demonstration station will be completed in Beijing. It can use solar energy and recycled batteries to charge vehicles, and the electricity generated can also be used by dealers for operation.

In the next three years, BMW plans to increase the number of similar energy stations to 100.

The entry of foreign capital means that the domestic electric vehicle infrastructure construction has huge market potential and good prospects, and it will also stimulate domestic auto companies to further increase investment in the construction of related facilities.

With the gradual advancement of the "dual carbon" goal and the implementation of a number of policies to support the development of new energy vehicles, the domestic auto industry is actively embracing the electrification change. pillar".

The large-scale development of electric vehicles has also led some multinational companies to target supporting software services.

Panasonic Group is one of them.

Yuki Kusami, CEO of Panasonic Electric Group, said at the forum that in November last year, during the China International Import Expo, the company signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Pacific Insurance and Sumitomo Mitsui Marine Insurance to jointly create exclusive insurance and services for electric vehicles.

It is hoped that Panasonic will create a new service model in the field of electric vehicles through the technology accumulated for many years in the battery field and the professional capabilities of insurance companies.

Yuki Kusumi said, "In the future, I hope to cooperate with enterprises in the industrial chain of logistics, electric vehicle leasing, battery trading and recycling, and second-hand electric vehicle trading, so as to contribute to the maximization of the total life cycle value of electric vehicles in the Chinese market."

The opportunities contained in China's electric vehicle market are attracting more and more foreign companies to continue to cultivate.

Representatives of multinational companies present at the meeting agreed that, as a major producer and seller of electric vehicles in the world, China and the rest of the world have broad space for cooperation under the common goal of promoting the low-carbon transformation of the automobile and transportation industries.
