Step by step, the Tui travel group is back on the road to more normal times.

After the pandemic drove the German holiday market leader to the brink of ruin and it had to be supported with billions from the state coffers, Tui decided to get back to the previous business volume as quickly as possible.

For this purpose, the staff will be increased significantly.

Tui has now advertised more than 1,500 jobs, a third of them for specialists in the IT sector, two thirds directly in the tourism business at the holiday destinations.

“People want to travel.

We are expecting a good summer 22 at Tui," says Tui HR director Sybille Reiß, looking at booking behavior.

Accordingly, the staff at the holiday destinations must be increased.

Half of the positions are filled with local staff, for the other jobs employees from the customers' countries of origin are being sought - for example for tour guides or childcare, as sports trainers or animators for the Tui hotels and clubs.

Choose your workplace freely

In the IT area, Tui is looking for additional staff across Europe from the outset.

Flexible and hybrid work in international teams is now common practice, according to the people in Hanover.

Wherever the job allows, you can choose your workplace freely and that is the case for most IT jobs.

Most of the staff is earmarked for the development of a new IT platform called 'Trips' for all holiday markets.

In the wake of the Corona crisis, Tui announced that 8,000 jobs would be cut and most of them have already been implemented.

The focus of the staff reductions was abroad.

At the end of 2021, Tui still had almost 51,000 employees.

In March, a job guarantee was agreed for around 10,000 employees in Germany until 2023.
