The Minister of Transport, Mobility and Rural Agenda, Raquel Sánchez, has assured that service stations will be able to start charging "this week" the advance for the application of the discount of 20 cents per liter of fuel.

The gas stations have been applying this reduction since Friday, when the measure came into force, and denounce that it means putting about 1,000 euros out of their pockets every day.

Sánchez explained that he does not have information on whether they are already collecting the advance, but he assured that "starting this week" it can be done, since it is the Treasury's commitment.

The minister also pointed out, in statements during the presentation of the urban integration project of the railway in Montcada i Reixac collected by

, that the discount is already being applied.

This advance will allow the stations to receive an amount equivalent to 90% of their monthly billing in 2021, since it is the gas stations that execute the discount.

The Government launched this tool to reduce the impact of the energy crisis on families and businesses.

However, from the sector, especially in the case of small stations, they consider that they are the ones who are paying the discount.

The problem is that, although the Treasury will return the money to the gas stations, these are the vehicle through which the discount reaches users.

Thus, fuel prices are maintained and the discount is applied to them, so the stations end up selling at a loss.

A month expired they may request that what they have contributed be returned -without interest, which is also denounced by the sector-, in addition to being able to take advantage of this advance.
