JR Shikoku and Tokushima Prefecture's largest bus company started operating with integrated fares from the 1st in some sections of Tokushima Prefecture where there are few public transportation users.

This is the first time in Japan that railroads and buses apply the same fare across industries.

This initiative began on the 1st with the aim of improving convenience, increasing the number of users, and maintaining local public transportation by JR Shikoku and Tokushima Bus.

Specifically, the fares will be integrated in the section between Anan Station and Asakawa Station on the Mugi Line, which runs in Tokushima Prefecture, where the lines of both companies are parallel.

As a result, if you have a JR commuter pass or ticket, the same fare will be applied even if you transfer to the bus on the way to your destination, and the first bus fare will be eliminated, so it will be cheaper than before.

For example, when going from Tokushima Station to Mugi Station, many trains stop at Anan Station on the way in the current timetable.

If you change to a bus at Anan Station, you would have to pay 1660 yen for the train and bus, but from the 1st you can use it for the JR fare of 1470 yen.

This is the first time in Japan that rail and bus apply the same fare across industries.

At the bus stop near JR Anan Station in the target section, a poster was posted to inform the operation of the fare that started on the 1st.

Takayuki Higashi, Deputy General Manager of the Tokushima Bus Planning and Management Department, said, "I hope that the number of flights will be reduced and the convenience will not be reduced, and that the number of users of public transportation will increase." ..
