In the first month of the Tibetan calendar, many ancient temples in Tibet will make exquisite butter flowers and enshrine them in the Buddhist temples.

  Ghee flower is mainly made of ghee as raw material, adding various mineral dyes, and it has a long history to sculpt various figures, flowers, birds, etc. that represent auspiciousness.

According to legend, butter flower is an alternative offering invented by Tibetan Buddhist believers because there were no flowers for Buddha in winter.
